Experts' evaluation for standard academic criterion and the performance of graduates of the Faculties and Departments of Media and Educational Media in Egyptian universities

Abstract

The study aims at identifying the vision of media professionals and educators and their evaluation for standard academic criterion for the media and educational media sector, and for the performance of graduates of the Faculties and Departments of Media and Educational Media in Egyptian universities. The study employs descriptive methods to diagnose relationships between the two variables, and it applied both a survey on experts in the field of media and educational media and personal interviews after distributing a copy of the standard academic criterion for the media sector and educational media issued by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and accreditation. The main results concluded by this study are "Dealing with information and communication technology and its uses in the various media fields" form the most important specifications that a media graduate must possess from the point of view of media experts. As for the characteristics of a graduate of educational media departments, the "ability of the graduate to - employ information and communication technology in various educational media work" is found to be the most important characteristic that experts consider necessary for the graduate.
