The educational media specialist's use of new media and its relationship to developing his professional performance

Abstract

School journalism has witnessed a great development during the past years and is no longer limited to handwritten wall papers or printed newspapers, but school press has employed other types of media that use the Internet to inform students, students, parents and teachers about school news, and most schools have a Facebook page. School competitions extended to include the electronic newspaper and the printed newspaper, as the Internet provided a new communication platform through which communication between educational media specialists and students could quickly and easily provide media content that was interactive and rich in information in all fields. In this context the research problem was formulated in examining how educational media specialists in schools use new media (social networking sites - electronic newspaper - e-mail - forums and others) and how these media are employed, and the relationship between their use and the development of the professional performance of media specialists; this in addition to exploring and the vision of specialists for the future of the new media in schools, and that application on the specialists working in the schools of Cairo and Dakahlia.
