Abstract

The elections for sports clubs and the elections for professional and student unions have gained great importance in the current period, because they represent forms of interaction and community participation for groups of the masses who are united by common interests and feel the ability to influence and act in the environment with which they interact and belong to.
In this type of elections, different types and forms of communication are used, starting with the personal contact that appears in contact with the candidates and campaigners during the election campaign or earlier, which is not available to the same extent in political elections, whether presidential or parliamentary. As represented in conferences, seminars and mass meetings held by the candidates, mass communication is also used through traditional and electronic media in which the candidates appear to talk about their electoral programs and development projects. As well as those mass media used in the Egyptian sports club elections 2017 as advertising media displaying advertisements for the candidates and the various electoral lists.
The current study seeks to identify the types of communication that voters employ in sports clubs to seek information about candidates, compare the use of personal communication and traditional and electronic media, identify the factors that interfere with voters ’choice of the candidate, and determine the importance of the types of personal communication used in seeking information about candidates. And assessing the dependence of voters on the electoral campaigns and the methods used in them to seek information on candidates
