Factors affecting Egyptian Youth Adoption of Entertaining mobile applications

Abstract


 
This study is reflecting a deeper look at the consumption behavior of Egyptian young generation to the digital platforms and their usage pattern.
On that front, this study is analyzing the characteristics of the social and entertaining platforms and their development behavior and to what extend young adults are relying on them. Also, to have a better understanding for the elements affecting this consumption and behavior for youth to these platforms (Such as: Previous tech. experiences, the benefits from it, usage friendly, Technology development trends, the rationale behind using these platforms, efficiency, and Apps acceptance).
Social platforms are top ranked according to Young generation consumption to the Digital platforms especially mobile Apps, and this study has reflected a consumption and engagement increase for Snapchat in form of communicating using Texts and all sorts of visuals like filters or lenses, which became more of addiction to many. Anghami also is ranked on top when it comes to Music consumption, as it provides all Arabic & International music genres either for free with advertisements or with subscription bases, in addition to suggesting music to each user according to their listening behavior.
As for Video consumption, Netflix came on top as it provides all copyrighted content with high-resolution with most recent exclusive library of content of series and movies.
Then Shahid follows on Video patterns as it provides same features for video content with both free and VIP models.
the most important elements affect the acceptance and usage of young generations to the digital platforms are: User experience and accessibility, the user benefits from these platforms, usage experiences and the development directions for these applications.
This study has proved with statistics support the correlation between effectiveness of the digital platforms and the acceptance of young generations to mobile devices and accessible solutions.
