Abstract


     This study seeks to explore the use of augmented reality and mixed reality technology in press websites through technical innovations (smartphones and Hololense glasses) in order to provide an information base derived from the accumulated research and knowledge balance, which contributes to providing a rich and modern research material in this regard and allows the development of electronic journalism via phones. Smart and increase its efficiency in the future. It also seeks to know the nature of the human and technical capabilities available within the room of designers and developers of press websites to apply augmented reality and mixed reality. And learning about the perception of the designers and developers of press websites of the supposed role that augmented reality and mixed reality play - and the specifications and conditions that should be met by its practitioners
     And monitor the expectations of the designers and developers of press websites for the future of augmented reality and mixed reality in electronic journalism through technical innovations (mobile or smartphones and Hololense glasses) in the coming period in terms of the degree of their practice and generalization, their vision of ways to increase awareness of them, and urge electronic newspapers via mobile to use them.
     The study belongs to descriptive studies, and it also belongs to prospective studies. The study community is the designers and developers of press websites that used augmented reality (AR) technology on paper-based newspapers only, such as (Al-Ahram - Al-Akhbar) newspapers.
The study also depended on the media survey method, and the researcher used an in-depth interview tool with a number of (6) developers of press websites.
     Among the most important results of this study:
- This study confirms that the possibilities of augmented reality and mixed reality in electronic journalism are still unexplored.
- The study sample of specialists in AR and MR production of designers and web developers agreed that they were not aware of mixed reality technology.
The human and technical capabilities available for the application of AR and MR have no limits, it is according to imagination.
The one who produces and manufactures AR is called an AR programmer and developer or software developer.
One of the conditions that must be met by the augmented and mixed reality practitioner is to be a journalist first and foremost, and be familiar with programming and the use of AR and MR technologies.
- Those involved in the production of AR and MR should be familiar with programming languages ​​such as HTML and experience in using the Internet, the same technology and dealing with social media.
- One of the advantages of using AR and MR is that they enhance and strengthen the press content very well and increase the viewership rate, as it links the paper content to the electronic content, makes it updated and clarifies it more and makes the reader linked to all media sources on the scene.
- One of the disadvantages of using AR and MR on journalistic websites is electronic illiteracy.
