Abstract

This study seeks to discover the problems facing the legal regulation of criminal liability for electronic press publishing crimes according to law number 180 of 2018 related to supreme council for media regulation, in addition to identifying the features of electronic publishing crimes and the criminal liability consequences according to the law regulating press and media and the supreme council for media regulation.
This study depends on analytical descriptive method to describe and analyze the legal texts related to the electronic press crimes in the law regulating the press and media number 180 of 2018.
The analysis revealed that the problems  are ambiguity of some texts which leads to difference interpretation, the expansions of publication ban, the lack of interest in regulating laws that faces violations intellectual property rights with regards to press work, the absence of clear distinction between the right to criticize and crimes related to insult and slander.
