Nowadays, social media is very important as a communication tool between different organizations and its audiences, one of these organizations is the Egyptian universities. The Egyptian universities students are considered the main base for social media users in egypt, which made the Egyptian universities used this technology to communication, reach out to the students and provide them with different services. This study seeks to analyze the content posted on the official pages of the Egyptian universities and to identify the students’ motivation and fulfilled gratification. The results show that most of the students follow their universities official Facebook pages, but their interaction with these pages is weak, also students are satisfied to an extent about their universities official Facebook pages due to the simple language used. The results revealed that cognitive, social and entertainment gratification came on top of the fulfilled gratification. Regrading the content posted on these pages, it varied between news, service, entertainment, social and promotional.
