Abstract

This study aims to investigate the image of Turkey in the international media during different times in the recent decades. The study compares the Turkish image in conflict times with Russia and USA, in addition to the last presidency elections that took place one year earlier than the expected date. The results concluded that the news reporting content is dominant in media content about Turkey and the investigative and opinion articles declining. This was clear after the unsuccessful military coup against legitimate president in July 2016. The Turkish image was negative in media channels such as Russia Today and CNN news. Reporting news about Turkey tended to be unbalanced and biased. Frames of fighting terrorism, diplomatic relations restoration, conflict, foreign pressure were the limits of portraying Turkish image in both Russian and American channels.
