This study seeks to analyze religious discourse in traditional and new media, and to examine the impact of applying media literacy tools on sample of students’ knowledge and skills aspects regarding their choice of religious discourse. This study is quasi experimental design conducted on a sample of students enrolled in the second year in faculty of arts. The main results show that the sample watch religious programs to understand figh and the teaching of the religion. The television come on the top of sources of information the sample depend on, then comes the Facebook pages. Furthermore, the results revealed that the study sample believe in the credibility of sources the depend on in the media and the sample are satisfied in general about the religious discourse Finally, the sample evaluate the discourse according to the simplicity of the language used, the usage of the examples and evidence, and the respect for humanity and human rights values
