Abstract

The photo richness in children magazines and website create different signs and symbols for deaf children, as it helps them in connecting with their real world.
This study seeks to answer the following question: what is the role of photo in children magazines and website, and how it helps in empowering deaf children to acquire spatial concepts?
This paper depends on Media Richness theory to analyze photos and how it assists in overcoming their disabilities.
This study uses quasi-experimental design to measure the impact of photos as an independent variable on empowering deaf children to acquire knowledge and information.
The results show that photos help children in creating their own culture, children prefer cartoons character rather than real characters, they prefer motion pictures rather than still photos, and the usage of photos and images are considered one of the best tools to support children in acquiring the concepts of typographic positioning
