This study aims at suggesting potential e-learning courses to teach students desktop publishing that has democratised information access and contributed to the overflow of information. It uses the experimental method, in which the researcher designs an e-learning course on desktop publishing and measures its effectiveness on improving the students’ skill sets. The researcher applies the experiment on a purposive sample of 60 university students at the fourth level. The researcher found that e-learning tools can effectively improve students’ skillset due to the variety of content types and assessment criteria. Students played the central role in their learning; therefore, they were more engaged and positively oriented towards their learning process. This showed the importance of e-learning tools and the need to effectively incorporate them in the educational system.
