Dramatic treatment for the concept of accepting “other” in cinematic and television social dramas

Abstract

This paper aims to discover Dramatic treatment for the concept of accepting “other” in societal drama presented in Ramadan 2012. The paper harnesses the theoretical background of model of social responsibility theory. The study employs descriptive method to diagnose relationships between variables in which it depended on content analysis for collecting data. The main results concluded by this study are: titles of the drama series focused on comparing between the concept of “Myself” and “Other”, and the intro of the drama series contained a lot of shots characterized by conflict and violence. Also, study proved the existence of a relationship between the role that the character play in drama and the positive traits for this character. And the ways of impact that each character had varied from being positive and negative. Besides that the Religious extremism was from the main issues discussed in the drama in the period of study
