Abstract

The study aims to discover the role of the electronic public relations can play in managing electoral campaigns, by studying how candidates for the Egyptian presidential elections 2014 utilized the new communication technology in communicating with electorates through their websites. This study is descriptive in which it depended on survey and comparative methods in collecting data and analyzing the websites for both candidates (Abdel Fatah Elsisi – Hamden sabbahi). The results of the study showed that the two presidential candidates' campaigns were interested in integrating the audience with the campaign's activities and events. Besides their both interest in continuous updating for their websites and easy of its usage and to use different multimedia tools in displaying their content online. While researcher found that there was weakness of the mobilization and interactivity function of the two presidential candidates' campaigns, and the two campaigns' website were less interested in providing the public with updated campaign news.
