Professional pressures in electronic newspapers in Egypt and their relationship to job satisfaction among journalists: a study in light of the concept of psychological burnout

Abstract

Studies indicate that the media profession in general, and journalism in particular, face many economic and professional problems, which greatly affect those working in the profession, and an opinion poll stated that the profession of journalism was one of the five worst professions in 2012, as it ranked 196 Among the 200 professions evaluated by researchers on the "CarrierCast" website, which specializes in studying the labor market. And taking into account all these factors, the researchers placed the profession of journalism in the 196th place, and the average income of journalists was 35 thousand dollars annually, which is less than the average income in other professions by 13 thousand dollars, and the level of tension was 44 points out of 100, and as indicated by the site that the profession of journalism is among the most stressful professions for its workers are psychologically burnout. For all those scientific facts, the current study stems from an attempt to know the nature of professional pressures that workers in the online press environment in Egypt are exposed to and its relationship to job satisfaction and their levels of psychological burnout, which may contribute to setting and developing administrative policies that can lead to alleviating these pressures, stress levels and psychological burnout, raising job satisfaction rates, which is reflected in the quantity and quality of the media product
