Despite the advantages that social networks have in identifying religious, political, social and economic issues, these sites are a double-edged weapons, as they also have many negative effects on the users of those sites and the community as a whole; the virtual community that they form lacks oversight, which makes it an arena for the transmission of a lot of wrong information and false beliefs that affect a large proportion of users in general and youth in particular, given that it is the group that uses it the most as a result of what most previous studies that have been conducted on Social network sites, including a study conducted on a sample of university students have confirmed. These studies stated that Facebook may conflict with the culture, values and principles prevailing in their societies, as the interaction tools that characterize these sites help a great deal in convincing individuals of all the beliefs, ideas and opinions they publish. The current study comes to identify the role of social networking sites in the perception of young people to a specific type of issues, which are religious issues due to the large spread and circulation of them through these sites.
