This paper aims to identify the attitudes of the local newspapers’ readers in Alexandria, Fayoum and Gharbiya towards the investigative journalism service presented to them in the newspapers they read. The study employs qualitative and quantitative methods to diagnose relationships between variables. The paper harnesses the theoretical background of service quality approach and social expectancy theory. the main results concluded by this study included that investigative reports came in the first place as the most format published by Alexandria newspaper , while the News pieces came first in El Gharbiya newspaper while the column format came first in El Fayoum.
