Abstract

This paper aims to identify the attitudes of the academic elites towards the performance of the public media during the political crisis taking the central governmental crisis in Baghdad and the region of Kurdistan as a model.
 The study employs qualitative and descriptive methods to diagnose relationships between variables.
the main results concluded by this study included that the public media offered an opportunity for the public to express their opinions in regards the crisis being studied and that majority of the academic elites was neutral towards the public media coverage for the crisis.
