Abstract

In a quantitative debate of public opinion studies compared to public mood studies, we find a noticeable advantage in favor of public opinion studies. Public mood studies are still few, and even Arab studies are scarce in this regard. The research problem of this study is to analyze impact of exposure to traditional media and modern media, on the general mood of Egyptian youth towards the maritime demarcation agreement between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, which is known in the media as “Tiran and Sanafir Agreement”.
The study compares the effects of exposure to traditional media and the use of new media on the mood of Egyptians in connection with the agreement, as well as describing the general mood prevailing in the study sample towards the agreement, and also tests several different relationships between the demographic variables of the respondents and their mood.
