The political employment of images of the conflicting parties in Syria

Abstract

The photographic image is one of the most important findings of the merger between art and technology. Through photography technology, drawing and inscriptions are transformed into images that reflect the reality of the photographed scene, and the increased interest in the image to fill entire pages in newspapers and magazines. And for the image to become a tool that the various parties use and employ to serve their interests with what these pictures carry from Connotations and meanings in a specific context
With the growing dependence on the image and the realization of its importance, and the development of imaging technology from films and light effects to digital production and image processing programs, the dark side of the image and its manipulation methods appear.
Which leads us to question the mechanisms and methods of political employment of the image between the conflicting parties? How can the new media, especially social media, be an effective weapon in the conflicts and divisions within Arab societies?
