The quest of Arab youth to obtain religious information from social media and its relationship with religious awareness and the adoption of a culture of tolerance

Abstract

Social networking sites are not only used on the social side, but have become one of the most powerful sources of information, and their role in forming public awareness of important societal issues has become something that cannot be overlooked. Its role in disseminating and circulating information and opinions has extended to include religious information, fatwas, and many matters of worship and divine laws, after the information and opinions on these subjects were - for long periods - mainly due to official religious institutions. Where social networking sites play an important role in spreading awareness and religious culture within the community
In this context, this study attempts to identify the patterns and strategies of Arab youth, seeking religious information from social media and its relationship to their level of religious awareness. As well as revealing the relationship between Arab youth seeking religious information from social media and adopting a culture of tolerance and rejection of violence as an essential part of religious awareness. Tolerance and the rejection of violence are a major goal of the monotheistic religions. Tolerance means spreading and spreading the call for peaceful coexistence and acceptance of the opinion and other opinion, and the rejection of violence, sectarianism, racism, sectarianism, and everything that divides society.
