A sample from Egyptian children and adolescents acquiring the values presented in the series “Wanees' Diaries

Abstract

Morals and values ​​are the pillars of the development of societies and nations, from this standpoint many countries of the world - whatever their religion - are now calling for all decent human behavior and seeking to educate their children on values ​​and morals, to achieve remarkable success and remarkable progress in all fields.
 This research focuses on one of the models of drama that provides morals and educational content, namely The series "Wanees' Diaries" and continued for more than 18 years from the beginning of its first part broadcasting on (ART) channels, which began its presentation in 1994 AD, then the following parts on an annual basis, and re-broadcasting its first three parts on the Egyptian television in 1996, and then the fourth and fifth parts were broadcasted.
This series presents educational models for Egyptian families and their problems by presenting models for negative and positive personalities, and providing examples of the methods that these characters use in life to confront the problems of society. Therefore, this study examines the role of this type of (educational) drama represented in the series "Wanees' Diaries" - the sample of the analytical study - and its role in the acquisition of children and adolescents because of the values ​​and behaviors it broadcasts.
