Abstract

Media play an important role in the elections as a communicative mediator between the three parties to the electoral process; the voter, the candidate and the authority.
It is not possible to talk about fair elections in light of media blackout or misinformation, and the electoral process cannot be described as democratic if the competing candidates are not defined and their programs also are not defined through the media to urge people to participate and provides them with all basic information.
With full awareness of the specificity of the relationship between politics and the media, the years of the revolution (January 25, 2011 - March 2014) recorded serious attempts by businessmen and politicians to use the media as a tool to support their political currents and try to raise the margin of media freedom, which prompted some (among the owners of private channels) to politicize the media at the expense of professionalism. And respect for the media honor charters.
The problem of this study seeks to evaluate of the performance of the private satellite channel CBC for electoral campaigns, in covering the 2012 presidential elections.
