The Arab audience Motives for exposure to economic topics on Arab news channels

Abstract

This study deals with the Arab audience motives for exposure to economic topics on Arab news channels". This descriptive study used the survey method by surveying A sample of the adult Arab audience (18 years and older), The questionnaire was administered between(30 January : 14 March), 2025, on 400 respondents from various Arab countries."
The study concluded to:

"About ( 50% ) of the sample represented “low” exposure to Arab news channels, followed by “medium” exposure at ( 31%), and “high” exposure at the last ranking (16%)"
"There was a high dependence by the audience (the study sample) on Arab news channels to satisfy their instrumental motives for understanding and gaining knowledge of economic events, topics, and their future scenarios."
"Some motives ranked highly: the statement "To learn about economic news surrounding the Arab region", ranked first with a weight of (87.6%), followed by the statement “To possess a degree of awareness that helps me discuss economic topics with others” in second place with a weight of (83.3%), Meanwhile, the statement “To be able to predict the features of the economic future for myself and my family” ranked last with a weight of (80.3%)".
