Abstract

The study aimed to explore the attitudes of Jordanian youth toward topics related to the political modernization project presented on digital media, as well as their habits and patterns of following these topics. It also sought to determine the extent to which Jordanian youth rely on digital media to obtain information about the political modernization project, and to clarify the reasons and role that digital media play in shaping their attitudes toward the project.
The study employed a descriptive methodology and included a sample of 400 young Jordanians. It relied on a questionnaire as the data collection tool and used the Expectancy-Value Theory in setting its objectives. The results revealed that the attitudes and motivations of Jordanian youth towards the topics of the political modernization project on digital media were "moderate." Furthermore, "constitutional amendments related to the election and political parties laws and parliamentary work mechanisms" were identified as the most important topics of the political modernization project followed by Jordanian youth on digital media.
