The applications of Artificial Intelligence in detecting forensic evidence associated with Cybercrime in Arab security institutions

Abstract

study relied on the survey method and the questionnaire and interview tool by applying it to a sample of (106) individuals from the military and civilians working in security institutions. The study found a high rate of follow-up by experts in Arab security institutions on artificial intelligence applications and methods of employing them in combating cybercrimes.
The results also revealed the readiness of Arab security institutions to use and adopt artificial intelligence applications to a moderate degree when performing their professional and functional tasks, and the diversity of motives for Arab security institutions adopting artificial intelligence applications in their various sectors, as the motives of competitiveness in the security sectors, analysis of large and complex data, and increasing the efficiency of the human factor topped the list. In the security sector, crimes of terrorism, financial fraud, hacking into customers’ bank accounts, and espionage operations topped the list of electronic crimes that artificial intelligence applications are expected to have a role in reducing. They also topped the areas in which Arab security institutions employ artificial intelligence applications in detecting electronic crimes in “tracking the path of the perpetrator.” the crime, Detection of bank account hacks, access to genetic fingerprints in multiple forms, and detection of unidentified bodies.
