The relationship between adolescents’ exposure to celebrities’ pages on social media and their level of ambition

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the relationship between adolescents’ exposure to the pages of celebrities on social media and their level of ambition. The study used a field survey method using a questionnaire on a sample of (400) adolescents. It was one of its most important results                       
1- The rate of follow-up by members of the research sample to the pages of celebrities on social media was high.
2- The largest percentage of the research sample (58.25%) answered that entertainment and spending time are among the most important reasons for following celebrities’ pages on social media.
3- The largest percentage of the research sample (68.75%) follow the pages of celebrities on Instagram.
4- The largest percentage of the research sample (73.00%) follow the pages of content creators (YouTubeers - Bloggers).
5- The level of responses of the research sample members regarding the extent of their feeling of similarity (similarity) with celebrities on social media was average, as the general arithmetic average reached (1.95)
6-The level of responses of the research sample members towards the form of their semi-social interaction with the pages of celebrities on social media was average, as the general arithmetic average reached (1.95) and was at a “neutral” level.
7- The largest percentage of the research sample (77.00%) answered yes, that they wish to be famous personalities on social media.
8- Nearly half of the research sample (49.50%) wished to be famous personalities on social media to achieve social status and be known by everyone.
9- A percentage (40.26%) of the research sample members aspire to fame in the field of creating purposeful content (YouTube - Blogger).
10-The level of responses of the research sample members in the ambition scale was high in the three dimensions (view to the future), where the arithmetic average reached (2.45), (professional ambition), where the arithmetic average reached (2.38), and (the tendency toward excellence and distinction), where the arithmetic average reached (2.38). 2.38).
11- There is a positive, statistically significant relationship between the intensity of exposure of adolescents in the study sample to the pages of celebrities on social media and their feeling of similarity to them.
12- There is a positive, statistically significant relationship between the intensity of exposure of teenagers in the study sample to the pages of celebrities on social media and their desire to be famous.
13- There is a positive, statistically significant relationship between the intensity of exposure of adolescents in the study sample to the pages of celebrities on social media and the level of ambition.
