The impact of the media treatment of the shoulder to shoulder initiative on the Egyptian youth's knowledge and attitudes towards it.

Abstract

 
The Shoulder to Shoulder initiative is considered one of the most important community initiatives that enjoys the support of President Sisi, especially with what Egypt has recently witnessed of the deterioration of the economic and living situation resulting from the Corona crisis and the Russian-Ukrainian war and its repercussions, as the Egyptian citizen has begun to suffer from the significantly high prices of food. Great, this initiative came to help the most needy families and provide them with goods and foodstuffs in all governorates and villages of the Republic.
Therefore, the current study aims to: “Monitor and analyze the media treatment in newspapers and websites presented by the Shoulder in Shoulder initiative, and its impact on shaping the knowledge and attitudes of Egyptian youth towards it, through a quantitative and qualitative analytical study of news and news reports amounting to (2189) published by twenty-four websites and electronic newspapers representing... The various orientations of the press: national - partisan - private, in addition to a field study on an available sample of (400) individuals from Egyptian youth, ranging in age from 18 to 35 years. The study used cognitive priming theory and medium richness theory.
The results revealed high rates of exposure to newspapers and websites to obtain information about the Shoulder in Shoulder initiative, and Al-Dustour newspaper came at the forefront of the newspapers relied upon by the respondents. The respondents’ assessment of the role of newspapers and websites in dealing with the Shoulder in Shoulder initiative also increased, with regard to the nature of the effects resulting from the adoption of Egyptian youth - the study sample - on the news and information published in newspapers and websites, it turns out that the most important influences are cognitive influences, then emotional influences, then behavioral influences. The most important criteria and axes of the richness of newspapers and websites came in their handling of the Shoulder in Shoulder initiative from the perspective of the respondents.
