Abstract

Environmental and climatic changes are among the most important topics that receive great attention from various media in recent times, due to the increasing risks and repercussions of those changes resulting from pollution, as it has become a global issue that has received great attention in recent times from all countries of the world, the United Nations and relevant organizations, and 107 have signed A country for the Glasgow Climate Charter at the Conference of the Parties (COP26) in 2021, and Egypt hosting this summit (COP27) this year to reduce pollution and develop a plan and strategy to preserve the environment and climate.
Therefore, the current study aims to: Seeking the impact of the Egyptian youth's solicitation and exposure to electronic newspapers on the perception, attitudes, and knowledge of young people towards environmental and climatic changes, through a quantitative and qualitative analytical study of news and news reports amounted to (1248), published in eleven websites and electronic newspapers that represent the various different orientations of the press. Nationalism - Partisanship - Private, in addition to a field study on a deliberate sample of followers of environmental and climatic news in electronic newspapers, consisting of (400) single Egyptian youth between the ages of 18 to 35 years. The study used the theory of seeking information, and the theory of dependence on the media.
The results revealed a high rate of dependence on electronic newspapers and seeking information about environmental and climatic changes and their risks, and that Egypt's hosting of the climate summit increased its follow-up rate, and the seventh day came at the forefront of the newspapers that the respondents relied on, and the respondents' evaluation of the role of newspapers and websites in dealing with environmental changes increased. and climatic, With regard to the nature of the effects resulting from the dependence of Egyptian youth - the study sample - on the news and information published in newspapers and websites, it was found that the most important effects are cognitive effects, then behavioral effects, then emotional effects, and it was found that there is a direct (positive) medium correlation between the dependence of the study sample respondents on electronic newspapers To obtain information about environmental and climatic changes and to show their awareness of the risks of environmental and climatic changes.
