Abstract

The study aimed to identify the relationship between the intensity of Egyptian youth’s exposure to digital platform drama and its relationship to their awareness of forbidden relationships through these platforms, through: identifying the volume of interaction with digital platform drama, identifying the intensity of Egyptian youth’s exposure to digital platform drama, and this study belongs to Descriptive studies, within which the researcher used the survey approach, both analytical and field, and relied on the questionnaire and content analysis as tools to collect the required data. The study was applied to a random electronic sample of (537) individuals from Egyptian youth. The study concluded that the higher the level of witnessing forbidden relationships across Digital Drama Platforms: The degree of Egyptian youth’s awareness of forbidden relationships, as addressed in television dramas shown on digital drama platforms, increases. The degree of use of digital drama platforms increases by increasing the motives for exposure to dramas on digital drama platforms. The study also demonstrated the presence of statistically significant differences between the average scores of the respondents on a scale. Understanding forbidden relationships as addressed in television drama shown on digital drama platforms, according to the difference in the level of viewing forbidden relationships across digital drama platforms.
