Abstract

The study aims to monitor, analyze and interpret the treatment of opinion discourse of Egyptian newspapers electronic websites of the “hayah karima” initiative by comparing opinion discourse of Al-Ahram gate, Al-youm Al-sabe website, and Al-Wafd gate to reveal similarities and differences between them while covering the initiative,  The study relied on Fairclough critical approach to discourse analysis, the results revealed an increased intensity of the Initiatives of Al-Ahram website, and to address them comprehensively in terms of both thesis and reference frameworks.
The results also showed a discrepancy between the websites of the sample study in the quality of the issues highlighted under the initiative; The Al-Ahram website focused on the role of the initiative in the development of the place and then its role in human development and finally, to provide security, Al-wafd gate focused on the role of the initiative in building people first, followed by its role in developing the place and then provide security, and the issues focused on Al-youm Al-sabe website were in conformity with the Al-Ahram Gate, The results of the study also indicated the emergence of a number of powerful actors, foremost among which was President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, The current Government, as well as a number of ministers concerned, thus confirms the results of Fairclough approach; On the one hand, newspaper discourse plays a role in supporting social change, and on the other hand, the influence of intellectual ideology, editorial policy and ownership pattern on the treatments presented by opinion speech in the sample study on the “Hayah Karima” Initiative.
