Attitudes of university youth towards partisan newspaper websites’ treatment of issues of intellectual extremism

Abstract

The study aimed to monitor the attitudes of university youth towards partisan newspaper websites’ treatment of issues of intellectual extremism, and to measure the degree of exposure of university youth to partisan newspapers. It also aimed to reveal the most important issues dealt with in partisan electronic newspapers, and to determine the extent to which university youth rely on partisan newspaper websites as a source of information. In addition to determining the relationship between party newspaper websites publishing intellectual extremism and university youth, and identifying the journalistic arts that university youth prefer in party newspapers, as well as monitoring the cognitive, emotional, and behavioral effects resulting from relying on party newspapers with a religious reference.
The study is considered a descriptive study, as it was applied to a sample of (399) individuals from university youth. The study reached many results, The most important of which are: Follow-up “rarely” came in first place with a rate of 52.63% of the total study sample, and the respondents’ follow-up of party newspapers meets their needs for news and information, as follow-up “sometimes” came in first place with a rate of 55.89%, then follow-up came “rarely.” In second place with a rate of 29.32%, and finally, follow-up “always” came in third place with a rate of 14.79% of the total study sample., In terms of the manifestations reflected in the direction of topics in partisan newspapers, which show intellectual extremism and are encouraged and carried out by individuals, “exaggeration in highlighting corruption issues” came in first place with a rate of 27.32%, then “promoting joining various jihadi movements” came in second place with a rate of 17.04. %, while “violence in interactions between colleagues within the university” came in third place with a percentage of 14.29%, and “use of threatening language” ranked fourth with a percentage of 10.03%, then “violence in dialogue with professors within the university” came in fifth place with a percentage It reached 9.77%, while “assaulting colleagues who disagree with the opinion” came in sixth place with a rate of 8.27%, then “distorting and vandalizing places within the university” came in seventh place with a rate of 7.01%.
