The Impact of Social Media on the Arabic Language from the Perspective of the Emirati Young People

Abstract

The study is crystallized in knowing the extent of usage shown by the young people in the UAE and the effect of using them on the Arabic Language and the effect of those networks on the used language (Arabic) and what are the methods used to protect the Arabic Language. This study is considered descriptive and it depends on the survey approach. This study is, consequently, applied to a purposive sample consisting of 200 individuals. It is evident that most of the desires, which are satisfied by males through using the social media are: entertainment and education. As for the language used by the sample individuals, it is evident that the colloquial Arabic is first, followed by the English and Arabic Languages. The most important recommendations are: media corporations must be keen on raising the awareness of dealing with the global Internet and holding courses that show how to use the Internet appropriately and calling for creating and designing websites.
