Abstract

 The study aimed to identify the role of the Instagram page of the Al-Etihad News website publishing the news of the World Media Congress in its first edition, November 2022, and to determine the extent of the commitment of the Abu Dhabi Media Company, represented by the Al-Ittihad Newspaper website, to the news media function. It also presents various news methods in introducing and preparing for the World Media Congress and its importance on both in the media & academic sectors. The study relied on the descriptive analytical method, in which the observation tool on the Instagram page of the Al-Etihad News website was used to publish the news of the World Media Congress, whether from the stage of preparation and press conferences to the activities and the echo that followed to the announcement of The second edition of the World Congress of Media in the United Arab Emirates on November 23.  The study found a set of results that:

Emphasizing the role of the UAE media in covering the news of the World Media Congress, especially the social media platforms of the UAE, which located the UAE as a global hub for exploring the future of the media industry and laying the foundations for the development of this sector.
Emphasizing the role of social media platforms in performing the news function and disseminating general and specialized news and information to the target audience by covering through special coverage on social media platforms Congress news, events, press conferences, and comments.
Emphasizing the effectiveness and activity of social media platforms in covering the news of the World Media Congress in its first session, which highlighted the acceleration of the development of the media sector by holding sessions centered on digital communication, artificial intelligence, advanced technologies and aspects of innovation in the sector, and were presented by a group of the most prominent Specialists in various media fields, "including journalists, broadcasters, and prominent parties on social networking sites, in addition to governmental and regulatory agencies and companies specialized in technology.".
