“Frameworks for presenting immune diseases in a sample of general and specialized press websites.”

Abstract

The media plays multiple roles in educating the public, providing correct information, and assisting decision-makers in various fields by providing accurate data that helps in making sound decisions.
Recent years have witnessed the spread of several chronic diseases and epidemics, for which the state, with all its agencies, has monitored material and human efforts to combat them and find a cure for them. Among these diseases are what are known as immune diseases; These are the diseases that occur to humans when the immune system mistakenly attacks the natural, autoimmune bodies.
The problem of this study is to identify "how the Egyptian and Arab press websites present immune diseases during the years 2021 and 2022". It also aims to identify the most prominent journalistic topics and contents that these websites have provided in relation to these diseases, the frameworks used in that, the most prominent government initiatives and measures taken by the state to reduce these diseases according to journalistic treatments, and whether the characteristics of websites have been employed in treatments related to these diseases such as the content includes videos, reader comments, and hyperlinks.
This study was applied to two of the general and specialized sites; "Youm7, and Web Teb website" using the theory of media framework analysis.
The results highlighted the predominance of the "immunodeficiency virus", which causes AIDS, as the most prominent disease covered in the two study sites at rate 32,5. and this can be explained as the most prominent and well-known immune disease; Therefore, its appearance on the seventh day website came at a rate of 40%. and the other immune diseases most frequently presented were “psoriasis, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus erythematosus, and type 1 diabetes.”
The active characters appeared in the two study sites in positive roles. These personalities varied, and the most prominent of them was The Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population, local and international organizations, as well as experts and specialists. The content analysis of the two study sites revealed that the two sites were interested in presenting journalistic topics related to immune diseases within the framework of "Guidance " as it is the most used of the two sites.
