Future anxiety among educational media students and its relationship to cognitive bias and satisfaction with academic specialization

Abstract

Anxiety about the future and a negative view of life has become the dominant feature in this era, with which all members of society coexist. For students and their future anxiety, however, it is also possible that cognitive biases and satisfaction with academic specialization have a role in their degree of future anxiety, which is what the current study aims at. Among educational media students and its relationship to cognitive bias and satisfaction with academic specialization, this study belongs to descriptive studies that aim to describe the phenomenon and test the correlations between the variables of the study in its current situation, so the study relies on the following approachesThe Survey methodology, in its descriptive and analytical parts, and the Correlation Method. The three study measures, designed by the researcher, were applied to an intentional sample of (438) students from the Department of Educational Information at the Faculty of Specific Education at Zagazig University, with (60) males and (378) males. Of females, to represent a (basic sample), a survey sheet consisting of three scales was distributed by sending the form link to student groups on Facebook and WhatsApp during the month of December 2022 for the four academic teams of the undergraduate level. Through the questions, three variables were measured: the level of future anxiety And the level of cognitive bias and the level of satisfaction with the academic specialization, and it was found from the results of this study that the degree of the level of future anxiety is high among students of educational media, the research sample, and the degree of the level of cognitive biases is also high among students, while the results indicated that the degree of level of satisfaction with the academic specialization is average among students The educational media is the research sample, which confirms the importance of these variables and their psychological effects on university students, especially in light of the qualitative academic disciplines and scientific competitions betweenacademic departments in public and private universities, and in light of changing and unstable social and economic conditions.
