Future vision to visual framing research in tackling societal issues

Abstract

This research deals with a critical analytical vision of research and studies on visual frames and their relation to societal issues، by monitoring current research trends in Arab and foreign visual frames research and analysis of research topics and theoretical and methodological frameworks of these studies، enabling the formulation of a future vision for the development of Arab research in the field of visual frames as well as access to a range of applied proposals in this field.
The results showed that studies with a security dimension topped the list of studies of visual frames، followed by issues of a social dimension and issues of environmental dimension came in the last order.
Most studies on visual frames used the survey method، and then the experimental method.
 The content analysis tool was ranked first in terms of data collection tools used in studies of illustrated frames.
With regard to the future vision of research topics، the researcher proposes to conduct a study on the impact of images and video footage on the management of the mood of the public and to conduct a study on the credibility of images and videos in regards to audience.
The researcher also proposes further studies on the criteria for selecting the image and the extent to which it expresses the editorial policy of the media organization.
