The study used the questionnaire as a tool to collect the required data, and the study was applied to a random sample of (450) individuals from the general public aged 18 years and over from the governorates of Cairo, Sharkia and Beni Suef. A questionnaire was applied consisting of 14 questions, consisting of several measures, in addition to personal data. The variables of the study represented in the type of residence), the educational level, the socio-economic level The study used the societal threats approach (risk society), and the previous studies were divided into two axes: The first: studies that dealt with the public's exposure to crime news through the media and the awareness of the resulting effects. Second: Studies dealing with exposure to crime content on social networking sites and its relationship to awareness of societal danger. The results of the study concluded that there is a statistically significant relationship between the level of exposure to social networking sites and the level of exposure to crime content on social networking sites. It was also found that there were statistically significant differences between the average scores of the respondents on the scale of perception of societal danger, according to the different levels of exposure to the content of crime on social networking sites.
