Attitudes of students of journalism departments towards digital transformation in the Egyptian media environment and its relations to academic qualification within media colleges and institutes

Abstract

The study sought to identify the attitudes of students of journalism departments towards digital transformation in the Egyptian media environment and their relations to academic qualification within media faculties, institutes and departments, by monitoring the areas of agreement or difference between students of the fourth year in journalism departments within the faculties and departments of journalism under study, and their attitudes about the number of application A number of standards for the quality of student services and the extent of their conformity with technological developments, the requirements of digital transformation and the journalistic labor market, through the application of a questionnaire form to a sample of (200) students of the fourth year of journalism departments.
The study found:
1- The positive perception of students of journalism departments about the perceived benefit from digital transformation and technological applications came in the first place with a total percentage of (53%), then the negative perception came in the third place with a total percentage of (3%).
2-There are many obstacles to e-learning from the point of view of students of journalism departments, including:
     (Weak Internet and cut it off a lot during the lecture) in the first place with an average of (.6550) as one of the obstacles facing journalism students during e-learning, followed by in the second place (the lack of Internet in the villages as a result of poor capabilities) with an average of (.5650), then (. The lack of awareness among students of the importance of e-learning) in the third rank with an arithmetic mean (.3850).
3-- The students’ attitude towards the qualification and training courses they received and their ability to qualify them towards electronic transformation and the use of electronic applications (neutral) came in the first place with a percentage of (62.5%), then the positive trend came in the second place with a percentage of (23.5%), while the negative trend came in the third place by (14.0%)
4- As it is clear from the previous table, the positive trend of fourth year students in journalism departments appeared towards the quality of service provided by their colleges and departments to help them towards digital transformation.
