The role of public relations activities in managing Saudi political crises: the crisis of Iranian intervention in Yemen as a model

Abstract

It is crucial to analyse the nature of the efforts undertaken by the relevant public relations departments in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to deal with this crisis. Through two main methods: Analysis of the content of the most prominent media stories and comments that were exposed to the crisis of Iranian interference in Yemen through the official account of the Islamic Alliance page on the social networking site Twitter, as well as conducting a set of in-depth interviews with a sample of workers in the public relations departments of the relevant Saudi institutions: Ministry of Information, Arab Coalition.
The problem of the current study is seeking to identify the reality of the practice of public relations activities and their various communications in managing the crisis of Saudi-Iranian relations in recent times represented in the “crisis of Iranian interference in Yemen” through both the analytical and field study detailed later.
This study seeks to verify the main objective, which is to identify the strategies, methods, and roles employed by the social networking pages of the official accounts in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,, the account of the Islamic coalition IMCTC in particular, A sample of Saudi public relations practitioners, and those working in a group of Saudi ministries and official bodies (Ministry of Information, the Arab Coalition, the Embassy of Yemen in Saudi Arabia) were investigated.
