Social networking sites and their role in digital empowerment of young people with special needs and their assessment of them

Abstract

The study aimed at: identifying the concept of digital transformation and technical empowerment from the point of view of young people with special needs, as well as realizing the role of social networking sites in spreading a culture of digital transformation.
The problem of this study crystallizes in a main question revolving around “What is the evaluation of young people with special needs for social networking sites, represented in the pages of the Educational Center for Information Systems "ECIS", and the Computer Rehabilitation Center of the Egyptian Armed Forces via Facebook in their ability to support technical empowerment for them, and Develop their digital transformation skills?, and identify strengths and weaknesses by analyzing the current situation and benefiting from the results in raising efficiency and developing the future performance of such pages and the initiatives they offer to develop their skills, The results of the study found: There is a complete and permanent quest from all state institutions towards keeping pace with technological progress and digitizing all aspects of life, The concept of technical empowerment came from the point of view of young people with special needs that “it is intended to provide people with special needs with various knowledge and skills that qualify them for active positive participation in various digital activities to the maximum extent that qualifies them for their capabilities and abilities, in addition to changing the culture of society towards the disabled and handicapped from the culture of Marginalization into a culture of empowerment.
