The credibility of the Egyptian newspapers’ Facebook pages at the time of the Corona crisis among the Egyptian public Empirical Study

Abstract

This study aimed to define the credibility measures of the Egyptian Journals pages on Facebook to the Egyptian Population in COVID pandemic age through defining the size and motives of exposure and the level of interest, understanding and interaction with the pandemic news. The study applied scanning methodology for a sample of 433 case using a digital questionnaire. Major finding was the preference of Youm7 page followed by AlmasryAlyoum page. Major motive of exposure was the easy interface followed by the publicity of the journal. Prompt press for news was the most important drive for credibility followed by Precision and then comes the professional press. Most of the sample does not interact on the pages, just read the news. There is a statistically significant relation between the exposure and the pandemic understanding level, also there is a statistically significant relation between the sample exposure to the studied pages and their level of credibility.
