Dramas hashtags on social media and their relationship to the Egyptian audience integration with these dramas characters

Abstract

The research aims to identify the social media hashtags' treatment of the dramas, and the intensity of the audience use of these hashtags. It also aims to examine the relationship between the intensity of this use and the level of the Egyptian audience's integration with the characters of these dramas and how this relationship affected by several factors such as the audience's motives to use these hashtags, the level of their attention during this use, the level of their interaction, the level of their perception of the dramas symbolic reality, the level of their perception of the dramas virtual reality on social media, and their demographic variables.
This research is a descriptive one. It uses the survey method at its descriptive and analytical level. It uses the content analysis tool applying to a sample of 1458 publications, in addition to the questionnaire tool applying to a sample of 400 respondents from the Egyptian audience.
The research assures that there is a weak significant positive correlation between the intensity of the Egyptian audience use of dramas hashtags on social media and the level of their integration with these dramas characters. Also, there are significant differences between the categories of the audience's intensity use of these hashtags on the categories of their integration levels with the dramas characters favouring the larger group.
As well as, the study proves that the relationship between the intensity of the Egyptian audience use of dramas hashtags on social media and the level of their integration with these dramas characters is affected by the following variables:
The audience's motives to use these hashtags, the level of their attention during this use, the level of their interaction, the level of their perception of the dramas symbolic reality, the level of their perception of the dramas virtual reality on social media, and their demographic variables (age, gender, educational level, socio-economic level, and environment).
