Egyptian press institutions adopt artificial intelligence technology in producing and editing news and journalistic topics:

Abstract

Artificial intelligence in producing and editing news and journalistic topics, and benefiting from them in developing the journalistic work environment, and the consequent significant changes in the restructuring of the press and in improving its quality, and the tools that it can provide and the roles it plays, in addition to the positive and negative changes of these technologies in the future of the industry. Intelligence, the challenges that the Egyptian press may face and its strategies to take advantage of these technologies; On the other hand, the study focused on monitoring the impact of using the robot on the jobs of current journalists in order to improve the quality of work, in addition to anticipating the skills required for the journalistic and media labor market in the future, which must be mastered to adapt to the new work environment as a result of newspapers relying on artificial intelligence techniques.
    The study was based on its theoretical construction and the development of its hypotheses on the theory of the spread of innovations. This study is considered one of the descriptive studies, in which the survey method was used for the methods of media practice. The study was conducted on a random sample of 225 respondents from chief editors and their assistants, including deputy directors, editorial directors, department heads, journalists and technology officials, representing the Egyptian newspapers (Al-Ahram - Al-Akhbar - Al-Gomhoria - Al-Wafd - Al-Masry Al-Youm - Al-Shorouk - Seventh Day).
    The results of the study, according to the existing global experiences, and from the experience of the communicators, the study sample, showed that there is a great awareness on the part of the communicators in the Egyptian press institutions of the tools (applications) of artificial intelligence and how to use some of them in the field of the press industry, and that there are many techniques of intelligence journalism. The most important of which are: the production of short news automatically, especially based on statistical data, tracking breaking news, linking information quickly and efficiently and converting it into graphic forms, correcting spelling, grammar and stylistics, examining facts in an accurate manner. Fast and reliable, detecting fake news, converting texts into videos that summarize the event, creating multiple templates that address the same news from multiple aspects, translating videos and texts into more than one language, helping journalists identify the names of officials through image recognition techniques, designing, directing and printing the newspaper, Managing the electronic newsroom for the newspaper’s multiple platforms, producing and archiving big data, and finally analyzing websites and electronic accounts to identify Audience trends and their cultural, educational and professional level.
