This study focuses on third person effect in social media environment. Improbable sample of 400 college students has been deployed to explore youth awareness of social media risks over self and others national belonging and its relationship with governmental measurements to protect users. The study uses questionnaire as a tool to collect data. The findings indicated that 37% are high interactive users of social media. The most interactive elements are emotions, posts, comments, and shares. The youth are vulnerable to negative content more than senior users in addition to their extensive dependence on social media as an essential source of information and social interaction
