Analytical study of the Egyptian journalistic discourse about African-Egyptian relationships in light of the Egyptian presidency of the African Union

Abstract

This study relies on framing and context theoretical backgrounds to analyse newspapers discourse regarding the African Egyptian relationships after Egyptian presidency of the African Union. The study deconstructs and interprets discourse segments along with resources and active factors in both analytical and descriptive levels. The study diagnoses the dominant ideology of the journalistic discourse. The exploratory study defines Al- Ahram, Al- Watan, and Al- Masry Al-Youm, as the main newspapers that reports news about the African Egyptian relationships. The time span of the study from 1st of Feb to 30th of May 2019. The study concluded promising tendencies towards the future of the African Egyptian relationships.
